Cassette Trainer

Our sister company Audio Equipment Trainers are based upon the popular brand solid state tape recorders which incorporate the latest industry design features. These trainers are specifically created to teach cassette recorder operation, theory, repair and servicing. Special attention is given to fault diagnosis so as to facilitate the teaching of troubleshooting techniques. These trainers are ideal for use as stand alone units or can be combined with our other audio trainers to make a complete stereo training system.

The cassette recorder is mounted on an attractive chassis which allows the main printed circuit board to be exposed for ease of work. The circuit board features a glass cover which has opening for access to all test points so as to allow insertion of probes while protecting the student and the circuit board. The cassette mechanism is mounted in its original case which has been modified so as to allow the mechanical parts to be easily accessible for student work. The trainer allows access to the entire factory recommended key points for the taking of measurements, analysis and adjustments. All controls are functional just as on an actual cassette recorder/player.

The teaching program is designed to follow the service procedures as recommended by the manufacturer and uses the factory service manual in conjunction with student job sheets. Each trainer comes with complete courseware information as follows:

A) Factory service manual with detailed circuit board schematic diagram.
Model: II-EDU-1009
B) Student job sheets with fault guide and writing diagram.

A unique fault insertion system is built into the trainer for student instruction purposes. The system features a Schematic Block Diagram silk screened onto an integral fault board that utilizes toggle switches to insert the fault. Single or multiple faults may be introduced at any time. Faults may be visualized by means of oscilloscope to compare the wave forms of the fault symptoms and the ideal state.
